Process Design Engineering Package
1.0 Scope of BASIC DESIGN ENGINEERING PACKAGE (BDEP):
1.1 Basic Design Engineering Package for the plant facilities has to be prepared
by the Process design group.
1.2 BDEP shall provide necessary process and engineering design information to enable detailed engineering to commence from the BDEP.
All documents are to be prepared in accordance with sound design and engineering standards generally followed in Chemical/Hydrocarbon
industry.
1.3 The contents of BDEP shall be, but not necessarily limited to, the following (metric system of units shall be used for all
deliverables with the only exception being extended to licensors own standards which are issuable with their existing
units of measurement).
2.0 DESIGN BASIS:
The design basis will provide all information agreed between the DEC (Detailed Engineering Contractor) /LICENSOR and OWNER and
upon which the design and engineering' wilt be based. The design basis will consist of the following information.
a) Plant definition including function and scope of the unit.
b) Plant capacity, turndown ratio and on stream hours/year.
c) Feedstock source and specifications, highlighting limiting specifications and their impact on unit design.
d) Products and desired target specifications.
e) Utility sources and characteristics.
f) Battery limit conditions.
g) Environmental requirements.
h) Safety requirements.
i) Specific design criteria and basis of selecting critical parameters.
j) Special OWNER requirements, if any.
3.0 PROCESS DESCRIPTION:
Detailed process description of the unit including information on reaction chemistry, kinetics, energy consumption,
range of critical operating parameters and their impact on product quality or operability, etc.
