MARKETING VS SALES

Marketing and sales are often considered two separate teams in an organization.

In reality, marketing is just a subset of the sales team. Marketing is a subset of the sales team, which means that marketing is basically carrying out the efforts to bridge the gap between customers and buy-ready customers. The role of a marketer is to create awareness about your product, build rapport with the customers and even increase affinity for your brand.

In contrast, sales people typically focus on generating revenue through selling goods or services to potential buyers. Sales people typically focus on generating revenue through selling goods or services to potential buyers while marketers tend to focus on creating awareness about products or services in order to generate more prospects

Marketing is not the same as sales. It is not a process that intends to make a sale; it is a process of building awareness and interest in your organization, products and services. Marketing focuses on understanding what customers want and need. Achieving this knowledge helps you figure out how they can be persuaded to buy your product or service.

Some of the goals of marketing are:

-To increase an organization's "share-of-voice" relative to competitors.
-To promote the value proposition of products or services.
-To build customer loyalty over time.

Marketing is the process of building awareness for a product by using various forms of communication to reach potential customers. It's not about buying customers or make a sale, it's about convincing people to do business with you.

Sales is the process of convincing customers to buy products or services. Salesmen are generally paid on commission and need to work as much as they can to get sales; marketing professionals are not focused on pushing products onto people and only have limited time.
