HAZOP

HAZOP study is carries out on the basis of certain specific documents data. Therefore, these documents are required before actual start of the study. Typical data required for conducting HAZOP study is:

BDEP - Basic design Process package.
PFDs and P&IDs.
Process/Engineering datasheets of critical equipment.
Process plant manuals like plant operating manual. safety manual, emergency handling manual and firefighting procedures.
For operating plant, equipment manufacturer ‘s manuals. Material safety datasheets.

Selection of required data depends on the objective and scope of the study and the stage of the project in which HAZOP study being carried out, The HAZOP study team should thoroughly understand the process and operating philosophy of the unit to be studied for HAZOP.
